Participate in a clinic

Information for participants

If you are interested in participating in a clinic, this page may interest you.

How do the days unfold?

The clinic starts at 9:00 am with an introduction and a theory session without horses. The rest of the day depends on the theme, but starts on the ground. We have a break from 12:00 to 13:30. The afternoon program also depends on the theme. The course ends at 17:00. There will be a question and answer period until 17:30. I am also available for a private session after the workshop.

Is any horse allowed?

If you are starting out and have several horses, I recommend that you bring the "easiest" one to get the most out of your learning time. Once you understand the basic concepts, you can apply them to your other horses. Horses with severe handling difficulties (safety) and horses not started under saddle are not allowed unless it fits the theme of the course. If you wish to have a coaching, this is possible in private sessions.

Concerning stallions, participation in a course can be done under conditions.

I also reserve the right to exclude a horse that represents a serious threat to other participants/horses.

Are any special materials needed? Do you bring any materials?

Tools are one of the ingredients that contribute to the success of a technique. You can bring the equipment you normally use, but here is the list of equipment I like to work with and that I strongly encourage you to have (the equipment required varies according to the clinic):

  • Basic ground work kit: rope halter/nylon halter, 3.70 meter round lead rope, carrot-stick and string. I can bring some kits if necessary (please let me know in advance).

  • 7 meters round rope (possible to lend some).

  • Rope, flat lunge line and whip.

  • Saddle, pad, bridle, reins

Do you allow photos and videos?

Yes, but only if you keep them for personal use.

Do I need to have previous knowledge of Horsemanship to participate?

It depends on the theme of the clinic. Clinics on ground fundamentals do not require any prerequisites. If prerequisites are required for a clinic, this will be communicated.
